Registered Nurse Medical Surgical Telemetry

About This Role

Deliver high-quality patient care in a Medical Surgical Telemetry unit at Texas Health Plano, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate patient needs.

Responsibilities

• Assess the patient utilizing the Nursing Process
• Plan the care of the patient
• Intervene as appropriate to patient needs
• Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions
• Incorporate age-specific safety/infection control measures into patient care
• Initiate action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
• Maintain continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers

Requirements

• Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program or nursing diploma
• 1 year experience as a registered nurse or completion of a RN residency program
• RN Nurse Upon Hire Required
• BCLS - prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program or nursing diploma
• 1 year experience as a registered nurse or completion of a RN residency program

Nice to Have

• BSN preferred
• Experience as preceptor and/or charge nurse highly preferred
