Lead the front desk operations for a Vascular Surgical Specialists Clinic, ensuring timely and accurate billing activities, coordinating patient appointments, and resolving complex billing inquiries. This role acts as a resource for practice management and physicians regarding coding and denials.
Responsibilities
- Deliver care to patients utilizing the Medical Office Front Desk Lead Process
- Act as a team lead to schedule work and ensure timely and accurate billing activities
- Coordinate with clinical staff to obtain charge information for all patients
- Code procedures performed and diagnosis on charge
- Act as a resource for Practice Managers and Physicians with denials and coding questions
- Coordinate copies of medical documentation with physician charges to support billing to third-party payers
- Resolve complex patient billing inquiries and problems
- Conduct all functions associated with patient check-out including pricing services, collecting payment, and scheduling follow-up appointments
- Complete payment and benefit verification on all patients in accordance with practice policies
- Coordinate scheduling with that of the practitioner’s schedules to ensure proper coverage of patient appointments and out-of-office calls
- Work with Practice Manager to facilitate training of new hires and other training initiatives
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Four years of Billing Experience in a Healthcare Organization
- Four years of Office Experience
- Ability to perform multiple tasks in one setting
- Demonstrates good understanding of health insurance and medical costs, including coding
- Strong customer skills
- Good communication skills
- Proficient computer skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism
- Team player who handles multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 4 years of billing experience in a healthcare organization and 4 years of office experience
Nice to Have
- Cardiac or Vascular Specialty Clinic experience
- Bilingual in English / Spanish
