About This Role

Serve as a Medical Laboratory Scientist specializing in Microbiology at Texas Health Dallas, performing routine bacteriological culture workups and molecular testing to support timely patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and solve problems related to collection and/or processing of specimens, maintaining specimen integrity throughout the testing process
  • Perform routine bacteriological culture workups and molecular testing
  • Facilitate workflow process
  • Check outstanding tests list in a timely manner
  • Troubleshoot and follow through on outstanding tests which appear to have not been collected/received when expected
  • Know and use computer downtime procedures as needed when computer is not available
  • Help other hospital and laboratory coworkers to provide timely patient care

Requirements

  • Internship in an approved Medical Technology training program required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Applied Technology, Clinical Lab Science or Chemical, Physical or Biological Science preferred
  • Two years’ experience in Microbiology preferred

  • Two years’ experience in Microbiology
