Serve as a Medical Laboratory Scientist specializing in Microbiology at Texas Health Dallas, performing routine bacteriological culture workups and molecular testing to support timely patient care.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and solve problems related to collection and/or processing of specimens, maintaining specimen integrity throughout the testing process
- Perform routine bacteriological culture workups and molecular testing
- Facilitate workflow process
- Check outstanding tests list in a timely manner
- Troubleshoot and follow through on outstanding tests which appear to have not been collected/received when expected
- Know and use computer downtime procedures as needed when computer is not available
- Help other hospital and laboratory coworkers to provide timely patient care
Requirements
- Internship in an approved Medical Technology training program required
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Applied Technology, Clinical Lab Science or Chemical, Physical or Biological Science preferred
- Two years’ experience in Microbiology preferred
