Registered Nurse - Joint Center

About This Role

Provide direct and indirect patient care as a Registered Nurse within a collaborative environment, adhering to nursing processes to promote optimal patient outcomes through evidence-based practice and care coordination.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and effective nursing care based on assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient needs.
• Administer medications, perform treatments, and document care activities according to Health First's policies.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members for care coordination, rounds, and discharge planning.
• Apply critical thinking to identify changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate interventions.
• Educate patients and families using teach-back to promote engagement and safe transitions.
• Adhere to safety protocols and infection prevention practices.
• Utilize Health First technology systems for clinical documentation and care plans.
• Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and High Reliability Organization (HRO) initiatives.
• Support precepting, mentoring, and onboarding of new Associates and students.
• Promote a culture of purpose, rounding, and communication at the bedside.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in Nursing (ASN) or Nursing Diploma
• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the State of Florida or endorsement
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) Healthcare Provider Completion Card
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Proficiency in EMR systems and patient documentation
• Demonstrated initiative in quality and patient safety improvements
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in complex environments
• Maintains compliance with competency validations and continuing education
• Demonstrate flexibility, reliability, and a commitment to a collaborative work environment

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Nursing (ASN) or Nursing Diploma
• Meets unit specific care requirements; new graduates taken under consideration based on the needs of the unit. One (1) year or more of acute care or specialty setting preferred.

Nice to Have

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN)
• One (1) year or more of acute care or specialty setting
• National certification in specialty area (e.g., CCRN, CMSRN, CEN)
