Registered Nurse - PCU

About This Role

Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care according to professional nursing standards. Demonstrate leadership and effective communication within the healthcare team to ensure excellent patient outcomes and experience.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate effective medication administration to patients as evidenced by Preceptor Observation Tool, Skills Fair Demonstration, and Clinical Practice
• Demonstrate appropriate delegation and supervision of patient care activities within the healthcare setting
• Demonstrate effective communication with other members of the healthcare team and promote effective team functioning
• Utilize Health First computer systems for order entry, order inquiry, and patient care documentation
• Demonstrate effective and safe clinical practice as evidenced by Skills Fair demonstration, yearly Competency Assessment, and Age Specific Checklist
• Coordinate interdisciplinary plan of care based on current evidence-based practice
• Document all nursing care, change in condition, response to therapy, treatments, procedures and referrals on patient record to meet standards
• Provide patient, family, and/or caregiver education as directed by the plan of care
• Provide service to patients and families with sensitivity and respect for their needs, expectations, age, cultural, and individual differences

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved school of professional nursing
• Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma
• Current Florida RN licensure or endorsement
• Current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider Completion Card
• Ability to speak / understand written and verbal instructions in English

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required, BSN highly preferred
