Analyze cytological specimens to provide quality results, ensuring no harm to patients and maintaining efficient use of resources within the pathology department.
Responsibilities
- Comply with department policies, processes, and procedures to provide accurate results, quality products, and services with minimal errors.
- Assure valid results, preventing patient or sample identification errors in laboratory procedures.
- Understand and apply sample quality control and equipment quality control per department policy.
- Comply with "I CARE" values.
- Manage daily workload in a productive manner.
Requirements
- Licensure as required by the State of Florida and CLIA guidelines
- Appropriate certification by the ASCP or similar accrediting agencies
- Knowledge of quality assurance and quality control procedures
- Ability to respond to a “call in” within 30-45 minutes
