Provide professional nursing care at the beginner practitioner level, coordinating patient and family-centered care based on the nursing process and hospital clinical standards. Act as a primary nurse for patients, administering treatments, medications, and interventions.
Responsibilities
- Provide and coordinate direct care in accordance with patient and family-centered care principles based on the nursing process and hospital clinical standards
- Act as a primary nurse for patients on the unit and synthesize patient data to develop outcome-driven plans
- Safely and independently administer prescribed treatments, medications, and nursing interventions based on assessment and plan of care
- Organize and prioritize time based on patient condition and expected workload, identifying and acting on changes in patients' status
- Identify and communicate individualized patient needs for safe handoffs during transitions of care, collaborating with patients/family and other disciplines in care planning
- Appropriately and correctly document patient response to interventions and progress toward outcomes using flow sheets, progress notes, and/or electronic medical record
- Identify own areas of professional growth and development in performance improvement efforts, recognizing the value of evidence-based research
- Promote a professional practice environment supporting patient safety and quality through interdisciplinary collaboration and Shared Decision Making activities
- Delegate aspects of care to other nursing personnel and monitor completion of assigned or delegated tasks
- Promote collaboration and cooperation among physicians, nursing staff, and other members of the interdisciplinary team, contributing to effective communications
Requirements
- RN experience
- Current BLS certification
Qualifications
- Diploma Program or Associates Degree required, Bachelor's Degree Nursing (BSN) preferred
- RN experience preferred
