Registered Nurse Float Pool

About This Role

The Registered Nurse (RN) Float Pool provides professional nursing care across various departments, assuming responsibility and accountability for a group of patients within a designated timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Perform ongoing and systematic assessment/data collection focusing on physiologic, psychological, and cognitive status of patients
• Analyze assessment data to determine appropriate nursing diagnoses
• Identify appropriate expected outcomes individualized to the patient
• Formulate a goal-directed plan of care, prioritized and based on determined nursing diagnosis and patient outcomes
• Identify patient/significant other learning needs and implement appropriate measures to meet these
• Implement care in a knowledgeable, skillful, consistent, and continuous manner
• Perform timely, accurate, and concise documentation duties on unit and in patient record
• Evaluate effectiveness of self, care given by health care team members, and contribution of systems, environment, and instrumentation in progressing patient toward outcomes
• Function with an awareness and application of safety issues within the institution
• Perform efficiently in emergency patient situations following established protocols

Requirements

• Current NYS nursing licensure, limited permit or eligible
• Excellent communication skills and writing ability
