About This Role

This Registered Nurse role in the Clinical Decision Unit at Wellstar Cobb Hospital involves providing individualized, high-quality, and safe patient care as a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team. The position emphasizes using the Nursing Process, practicing evidence-based care, and upholding the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act.

Responsibilities

  • Perform the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation, and evaluation) in clinical care using evidence-based practice and critical thinking.
  • Provide relationship-based, patient-centered care consistent with population-specific characteristics and cultural diversity.
  • Partner with patients and significant others for shared decision-making, including bedside shift reports, interdisciplinary rounds, and patient teaching.
  • Practice using current clinical practice standards.
  • Coordinate the delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care promoting the professional care delivery model.
  • Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration, practicing fiscally responsibly and promoting recruitment/retention.
  • Participate in performance improvement, research, and research utilization to promote safe, quality patient care.
  • Complete all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments, mandatory education, and population-specific education.
  • Serve as a preceptor and/or mentor for other professional nurses and staff.
  • Promote evidence-based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement in nursing.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma
  • Minimum 2 years direct patient care nursing experience
  • RN - Register Nurse (Single State) or RN-COMPACT - RN - Multi-state Compact license
  • BLS certification
  • ACLS certification (within 180 days)
  • PALS certification (within 180 days)
  • Ability to read, write and speak English language
  • Basic computer skills
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
  • Customer service skills
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Strong critical thinking skills

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma
  • Minimum 2 years direct patient care nursing experience

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • National certification in area of specialty
