Nursing Assistant - Care Partner - Acute Care Medical

About This Role

The Care Partner is a support care provider working under the direction of a Registered Nurse, focusing on enhancing the patient experience in an acute care medical setting. This role involves assisting patients with daily living activities, performing basic patient care functions, and potentially advanced technical skills to support clinical care.

Responsibilities

• Promote a positive patient experience by partnering with the healthcare team
• Assist with daily living activities and comfort measures for patients
• Perform basic patient care functions such as ADL's, ambulation, and vital signs
• Potentially perform approved advanced technical training skills like phlebotomy and simple treatments
• Perform clerical functions such as data retrieval, maintaining unit supplies, and transporting supplies/medications
• Implement all safety interventions to minimize risk and protect patient rights and dignity
• Maintain confidentiality adhering to HIPAA regulations and privacy procedures
• Participate in hourly patient rounding and promptly respond to calls
• Communicate effectively with patients, staff, physicians, and families using AIDET and ARRC techniques
• Provide a safe environment for patient care, including proper hand hygiene and infection control

Qualifications

• Rising Senior in Good Standing or High School Diploma/GED

Nice to Have

• Graduation from a State approved program for Certified Nursing Assistants or Patient Care Tech Program
