About This Role

As a professional caregiver, the Registered Nurse assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients, utilizing the nursing process, environment, and healthcare team to provide high-quality and compassionate care. This role focuses on delivering safe, cost-effective, and socially responsible healthcare services.

Responsibilities

• Perform assessment/data collection in an ongoing and systematic manner, focusing on physiologic, psychological, and cognitive status of patients
• Analyze assessment data to determine appropriate nursing diagnoses
• Identify appropriate expected outcomes individualized to the patient
• Formulate a goal-directed plan of care, which is prioritized and based on determined nursing diagnosis and patient outcomes
• Identify patient/significant other learning needs and implement appropriate measures to meet these
• Implement care in a knowledgeable, skillful, consistent, and continuous manner
• Perform documentation duties on unit and in patient record, which is timely, accurate and concise
• Evaluate effectiveness of self, care given by all health care team members, and contribution of systems, environment, and instrumentation in progressing patient toward outcomes
• Function with an awareness and application of safety issues as identified within the institution
• Perform efficiently in emergency patient situations following established protocols

Requirements

• Current NYS nursing licensure, limited permit or eligible
• Excellent communication skills and writing ability
• Ability to perform appreciable physical effort including lifting, pulling, pushing, and moving patients
