Registered Nurse - Ambulatory (Cardiology)

About This Role

Implement and evaluate patient care plans for a designated group of patients using the nursing process. Utilize clinical judgment and leadership skills to coordinate patient care and delegate tasks within the team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient interviews, explain policies and procedures, and review patient charts.
• Assess physiological and psychosocial health status of patients.
• Identify patient outcomes, develop criteria for measurement, and identify potential patient problems.
• Develop patient outcome statements and establish individualized patient goals.
• Identify care activities, establish priorities, and coordinate cost-effective use of resources.
• Implement the plan of care, maintain patient safety, and administer prescribed treatments.
• Reassess patients as needed and revise the plan of care appropriately.
• Provide emotional support to patients and significant others.
• Accurately interpret and implement physician treatment regimens.
• Perform various skin care procedures and administer medications correctly and safely.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
• Current License to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing, Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
