Recreation Leader

About This Role

Join the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department as a Recreation Leader, providing quality programming and assisting with events across various facilities in San Francisco, including seasonal Day Camp programs. This role involves inspiring residents and visitors to engage in recreational activities.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality programming or assist with events/programs at various facilities, including seasonal Day Camp programs
• Assist with program delivery based on interest and skills (Recreation Leader I)
• Perform facility monitoring work (Recreation Leader I)
• Deliver exciting recreation programs and activities in group settings (Recreation Leader II)
• Be responsible for the delivery of certified recreation, leisure, and sport programs and activities (Recreation Leader III)
• Set up and take down of facility tables and chairs
• Perform occasional janitorial tasks
• Provide programming in areas such as Community Services, Cultural Arts, Aquatics, Sports & Athletics, Outdoor Recreation, Peace Parks & Pathways

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED by June 2026

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma/GED by the first week of June 2026
• 500 hours of qualifying recreation experience delivering instruction/programs for Recreation Leader I; 1,000 hours for Recreation Leader II and III
