The Recreation Leader assists in conducting a wide variety of recreational and educational activities, monitors events and classes, and provides administrative support and customer service at City facilities. This entry-level role also performs light custodial duties and supports recreation staff in program implementation.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers inquiring about or using City facilities; monitor facility rentals and classes; answer phones and direct the public
- Perform routine custodial duties such as sweeping, washing windows, restocking restrooms, removing waste, and spot mopping
- Provide direction and assistance in resolving rental issues, facility/classroom problems, and emergency situations
- Monitor the facility during scheduled rental periods, classes, or City programs; ensure compliance with rules and regulations
- Open, close, secure, and maintain a safe program environment at City facilities; conduct routine safety checks
- Set up and prepare tables, chairs, equipment, and supplies for programs or activities; assist with equipment setup/function and service requests
- Complete inventory of necessary program supplies
- Complete facility cleaning checklist during assigned shifts and note items of concern
- Answer program-related questions and provide exceptional customer service
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year of experience implementing recreation programs or events
