This role involves leading a shift or assigned area of diagnostic imaging as a Radiologic Technologist Lead. Responsibilities include managing workload, prioritizing tasks, training new staff, and performing a variety of diagnostic procedures.
Responsibilities
- Function as lead worker in an assigned diagnostic imaging area or for a shift
- Manage workload relative to available resources and prioritize tasks for Diagnostic Imaging Technologists and support staff
- Prepare and monitor work schedules and perform time reporting duties
- Act as preceptor to new staff, providing training, orientation, and documenting competencies
- Perform general diagnostic procedures using various fixed or portable imaging equipment
- Apply principles of radiation safety in compliance with federal, state, and departmental standards
- Assess general patient condition, monitor medical equipment, and observe/document restraints
- Document procedures and events in the patient's medical record and departmental logs
- Transport patients using gurneys, wheelchairs, and beds, and transfer patients to/from exam tables
- Schedule procedures and patients, process images, and assist physicians with contrast media administration
- Train student technologists in diagnostic imaging science and practice
- Participate in departmental Quality Improvement efforts and conduct quality control/assurance procedures
Requirements
- 4 years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist
- Current California CRT license
- Current ARRT registration
- ARRT certification in at least one advanced modality (Mammography, CT, MRI, Quality Management, Bone Density, Cardiac-Interventional, or Vascular-Interventional Radiography)
- Valid Fluoroscopy permit issued by California Department of Health Services
- Valid CPR certificate from American Heart Association
Qualifications
- Four (4) years of experience working as a Radiologic Technologist
