Recreation Coordinator Assistant II - Indoor Summer Camp Counselor

About This Role

Join a team at The REC to create memorable summer camp experiences for children aged 7-12. This role involves directing and assisting camp counselors, engaging campers in recreation activities, and ensuring the smooth operation of facilities and programs.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of facilities and assist with various recreation programs, leagues, hospitality/concessions, and special events
• Assist with program registrations, including intensive computer processing with a custom registration system
• Assist with program and event setup, tear down, and implementation in various locations and conditions
• Provide excellent customer service by responding to customers’ questions and needs
• Perform general maintenance, concession duties, and housekeeping duties in Parks and Recreation Department facilities
• Ensure the safety of all spectators and participants in programs and facilities
• Complete various reports and submit them to the appropriate supervisor
• Interact professionally and respectfully with the public, coworkers, and others

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED AND 18 years of age OR 2 years of full-time equivalent experience as an RCA I
• 3-6 months experience working with children
• Ability to obtain CPR certification upon hire
• Physical ability for job tasks and outdoor work
• Ability to pass a Federal/National criminal background check
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen
• Availability for various times, nights, weekends, and some holidays

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or 2 years of full-time equivalent experience as an RCA I
• 3-6 months experience working with children
