Recreation Coordinator Assistant I - Indoor Summer Camp Counselor

About This Role

Serve as a Summer Camp Counselor for The REC, engaging campers aged 7-12 in various recreation activities and contributing to the daily operation of facilities and programs.

Responsibilities

• Attend to the daily operation of facilities and assist with various recreation programs, leagues, hospitality/concessions, and special events
• Assist with program registrations, including intensive computer processing with custom registration system
• Assist with program and event set up, tear down and implementation, including working both inside and outside in various locations and conditions
• Provide excellent customer service by responding to customers’ questions and needs
• Perform general maintenance, concession duties, and housekeeping duties in Parks and Recreation Department and/or Grapevine/Colleyville Independent School District facilities
• Ensure the safety of all spectators and participants in programs and facilities
• Complete various reports and submit them to the appropriate supervisor
• Interact professionally and respectfully with the public, coworkers and others in the course of daily work

Requirements

• Minimum age 16
• Must possess or obtain upon hire CPR certification
• Physical ability to accomplish job tasks such as set-up and take down tables/chairs/equipment for various activities
• Able to work outdoors as required
• Must pass a Federal/National criminal background check
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
• Must be able to work various times and be available nights, weekends and some holidays
