R&D Engineering Intern

About This Role

The R&D Engineering Intern will develop and test models or prototype build fixtures under the guidance of a manager and mentor, focusing on experimentation with candidate test methods. The project will involve data collection, analysis, and documentation, culminating in a presentation to R&D management.

Responsibilities

• Experiment with candidate tests and fixtures in the R&D lab
• Learn the basics of Shockwave Medical testing
• Perform data collection and analyses
• Document results using Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
• Execute technical protocols and reports

Requirements

• Completion of Undergraduate Freshman year at an accredited University
• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Biomedical, Materials Engineering, or related fields
• Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher
• Basic knowledge of electronics
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• High attention to detail and organizational skills
• Permanently authorized to work in the U.S., must not require sponsorship of an employment visa (e.g., H-1B or green card) at the time of application or in the future

Qualifications

• Completion of Undergraduate Freshman year at an accredited University, currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Biomedical, Materials Engineering, or related fields

Nice to Have

• Proficiency in Solidworks or CAD
