This position performs x-ray testing and Medical Assistant duties through operating diagnostic equipment, developing film, and preparing the room with necessary equipment and supplies. It includes duties such as obtaining and documenting patient vital signs, assisting with patient transfers and procedures, and ensuring equipment is in proper working order.
Responsibilities
- Perform x-ray testing including body mechanics and patient movement using knowledge of anatomy and physiology
- Operate diagnostic equipment, develop film, and prepare the room with necessary equipment and supplies
- Perform Medical Assistant duties
- Promptly greet patients and communicate wait times
- Provide solutions to patient problems and recognize emergent/hazardous situations
- Obtain and accurately document patient vital signs, weight, brief history, current medications, and allergies
- Assist with patient transfers and procedures directly supervised by the provider
- Perform timely radiology procedures for subsequent evaluation and treatment by attending physician
- Perform necessary quality control procedures to ensure quality exams
- Prepare patients for radiologic procedures and follow established clinical and regulatory procedures for patient safety and care
- Ensure equipment is in proper working order and report malfunctions
- Maintain and improve diagnostic imaging knowledge and skills
- Maintain current licensure and certification for facility radiology equipment and licensure
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- BLS Certification
- AR State X-Ray License
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
Nice to Have
- ARRT Certification
- Experience as a Medical Assistant
