The Radiologic Technologist Per Diem works with Medical Providers and Medical Assistants to provide patient care and perform technical procedures. This includes applying x-ray energy for radiologic diagnosis across all age groups and providing administrative support for efficient clinic operations.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Medical Providers and Medical Assistants on patient care management, organization, and communication.
- Exercise professional judgment to provide healthcare services, including applying x-ray energy for diagnosis or treatment.
- Perform and analyze patient x-rays and report results to Medical Providers.
- Prepare patients for examination, including verifying information, recording medical history, and performing preliminary physical tests.
- Maintain medical records, scan charts, and conduct courtesy call-backs for patient follow-up.
- Perform and document daily controls and calibration of equipment, maintaining Quality Assurance/Quality Control logs.
- Explain procedures to patients, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Accurately position patients and equipment for optimal imaging results.
- Select proper ionizing factors by adjusting/setting radiographic controls to capture clear, high-quality diagnostic images.
- Adhere to strict radiation safety protocols and implement ALARA to minimize exposure.
Requirements
- High School Diploma
- Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technologist program
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration
- State licensure as a Radiologic Technologist (if applicable by state law)
Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technologist program
- Experience in a clinical setting preferred
