Provide a basic level of general nursing and behavioral and psychiatric nursing care to patients within a correctional health care setting. This role involves collaborating with the health care team to ensure appropriate and timely health care delivery.
Responsibilities
- Organize and provide basic general nursing care to patients
- Administer behavioral and psychiatric nursing care to patients
- Adhere to Mental Health Program Guide, policies, procedures, and regulations
- Collaborate with the health care team to ensure appropriate and timely health care delivery
- Provide basic level of general nursing and behavioral and psychiatric nursing care under provider's order and RN delegation
- Support the care team for daily health care operations
- Communicate effectively with patients and other members of the health care team
- Address ongoing needs of patients
- Promote efficient, appropriate, and cost-effective use of health care resources
Requirements
- Possession of a valid license to practice as a Psychiatric Technician issued by the BVNPTE
