The Medical Assistant provides support to primary care providers, performing patient-oriented procedures and assisting with daily clinic operations within a correctional facility. This role involves communicating with patients and healthcare teams to promote efficient, appropriate, and cost-effective healthcare resources.
Responsibilities
- Provide support to primary care providers in a variety of clinical settings
- Perform patient oriented procedures under clinical direction or provider authorization
- Support the Primary Care Team (PCT) for daily clinic operations
- Communicate effectively with patients and members of the PCT and other health care team members
- Perform administrative duties
- Address the ongoing needs of patients
- Work with physicians and other health care providers
- Promote the efficient, appropriate, and cost-effective use of health care resources
Requirements
- ACTIVE certification status from an approved Medical Assistant agency prior to appointment
