About This Role

The Medical Assistant provides support to primary care providers, performing patient-oriented procedures and assisting with daily clinic operations within a correctional facility. This role involves communicating with patients and healthcare teams to promote efficient, appropriate, and cost-effective healthcare resources.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to primary care providers in a variety of clinical settings
• Perform patient oriented procedures under clinical direction or provider authorization
• Support the Primary Care Team (PCT) for daily clinic operations
• Communicate effectively with patients and members of the PCT and other health care team members
• Perform administrative duties
• Address the ongoing needs of patients
• Work with physicians and other health care providers
• Promote the efficient, appropriate, and cost-effective use of health care resources

Requirements

• ACTIVE certification status from an approved Medical Assistant agency prior to appointment
