Join the leading provider in geriatric mental health to deliver psychiatric services to the underserved geriatric population in Skilled Nursing and Long Term Care facilities across Utah. This role involves assessing mental status, diagnosing DSM-V disorders, developing treatment plans, and staffing clinical cases with psychiatrists.
Responsibilities
- Provide face-to-face psychiatric services to patients directly in Skilled Nursing Facilities
- Assess the patient’s mental status based on symptoms
- Appropriately diagnose DSM-V disorders and develop treatment plans
- Apply appropriate medical decision-making skills for mental health issues including psychopharmacology options and non-pharmacological treatments
- Staff clinical cases with psychiatrists
Requirements
- Licensed in Utah by the Board of Nursing in good standing with a focus in psychiatry
- Licensed by the Utah Board of Pharmacy in good standing to prescribe controlled substances (possession of a DEA)
- 1 year of Geri Psych Experience
- 1 year providing treatment within Skilled Nursing Facilities and/or Acute Rehab Hospitals
- Basic computer knowledge
- Excellent written communication
- Attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Flexible, organized, and functions under stressful situations
Qualifications
- 1 year of Geri Psych Experience and 1 year providing treatment within Skilled Nursing Facilities and/or Acute Rehab Hospitals
Nice to Have
- Fluency in Spanish
