Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

About This Role

Provide psychiatric services to patients in assisted living and skilled nursing facilities, focusing on initial and follow-up consults with minimal administrative tasks. Work semi-autonomously with support from psychiatrists and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and follow-up psychiatric consults in assigned facilities
• Complete light clinical documentation using streamlined note templates
• Participate in a telephone-based on-call schedule (approx. 1 weeknight in 7 and less than one weekend/month)
• Manage minimal administrative responsibilities, primarily clinical documentation and billing submission

Requirements

• MD APRN license
• MD DEA
• AANP certification (must be PMHNP)
• Active and unrestricted license
• Effective oral and written communication in English
• Basic proficiency with technology, including electronic health records (EHR)
• Strong organizational and documentation skills, with attention to regulatory compliance
• Ability to provide in-person services at assigned facilities
• Ability to walk, stand, and move between patient rooms and offices within the facility throughout the day

Qualifications

• Experience prescribing and monitoring psychotropic medications is very strongly preferred
