About This Role

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Minneapolis is seeking a full-time Prosthodontist to provide comprehensive dental care, including complex restorations, prostheses, and maxillofacial prosthetics, to veterans. This role involves making oral and radiographic examinations and coordinating services with other dental and medical departments.

Responsibilities

  • Make oral and radiographic examinations of the oral cavity and its adjacent tissues and structures
  • Accomplish routine and complex restoration of teeth
  • Provide routine and complex dental appliances including removable dentures, removable partials, fixed bridgework, implant-supported prostheses, and maxillofacial prosthetics
  • Design, construct, and fit prosthetic devices to correct severe oral maxillofacial deformity, complex malocclusion, or major loss of structural parts of mouth or face
  • Provide prostheses to assist in the management of sleep apnea
  • Provide supervision of dental residents, dental staff in the dental laboratory, and dental assistants
  • Analyze jaw relationships and movement and formulate treatment plans for construction of corrective prostheses
  • Provide consultation services
  • Coordinate prosthodontic services with other dental and medical services
