Lead the proposal development process for a multi-faceted contractor specializing in complex heavy civil projects, ensuring innovative and strategic positioning for qualifications-based opportunities. This role involves close collaboration with marketing, operations, and technical teams to produce high-quality proposals and presentations.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with marketing and technical staff to develop innovative proposals, presentations, and award submittals
- Oversee the proposal development process and create deliverables for project pursuits and interviews
- Assess level of effort for pursuits and resource planning with the marketing team and project stakeholders
- Work collaboratively with members of pursuit teams including executives, construction managers, estimators, business development managers, engineers, and designers
- Facilitate internal proposal kick-off meetings, milestone reviews, and post-submission activities
- Manage and coordinate pursuit roles, responsibility matrix, work plan, assignments, and deadlines
- Interview technical experts and develop proposal strategy
- Collaborate with graphic designers to develop visual communications strategy for technical and informational graphics
- Track the collection of forms, information, and data required for each pursuit
- Proofread, edit, and standardize proposal copy for proper grammar, spelling, comprehension, and style to support a one-voice methodology
Requirements
- 5+ years of proposal management experience in the A/E/C industry with an emphasis on qualifications-based and alternative delivery pursuits
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, English or related field
- Experience inspiring and managing a team of 3+ people
- Solid understanding of construction and engineering-focused technical writing skills, specifically heavy civil construction
- Skilled in interviewing executives, engineers, construction managers, legal, and designers to secure information for various writing assignments
- Proficiency in Adobe InDesign
- Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and active listening skills
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, English or related field
- 5+ years of proposal management experience in the A/E/C industry with an emphasis on qualifications-based and alternative delivery pursuits
