About This Role

This role involves managing all aspects of construction projects, focusing on client relationships and effective team leadership, for a general contractor in Northern California.

Responsibilities

  • Lead project teams including Project Engineers, Project Assistants/Coordinators, and other team members
  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with clients, architects, and subcontractors
  • Manage job planning, job setup, and project closeout, including obtaining permits
  • Review and understand plans and specifications, assemble and issue prime contracts, subcontracts, and change orders
  • Create and update CPM schedule monthly using MS Project, P6
  • Maintain project logs (RFIs Submittals, PCIs) using CMiC
  • Approve all job invoices and prepare monthly owner billings
  • Run owner/architect/contractor weekly job meetings and distribute minutes
  • Work with the Superintendent on issues, problem-solving, and reviewing schedule and job cost forecast
  • Regularly review job status, logs, and job cost analysis with the Project Executive
  • Work on all aspects of Preconstruction and Business Development

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in CM, engineering, or architecture
  • 7+ years of experience with a Northern California general contractor
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills
  • Ability to work at a detail level and think strategically
  • Solid computer skills in Microsoft Office suite
  • Proficient use of scheduling software (P6)
  • Proficient use of project management software (CMiC or similar program)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in CM, engineering, or architecture with relevant experience
  • Seven or more years of similar experience with a Northern California general contractor with a track record of successful project completions and high customer satisfaction.
