Project Manager from Java Development Background

About This Role

This role is for a Technical Project Manager with a Java development background, responsible for driving and tracking software development initiatives within the engineering organization. You will plan, manage, and execute multiple projects in the BFSI domain, ensuring successful and on-time releases.

Responsibilities

• Drive, track, and manage software development within the engineering organization
• Plan, manage, and execute multiple projects in the BFSI domain
• Work closely with Engineering and Product Leads to ensure successful, efficient, and on-time releases
• Orchestrate and shepherd the flow of software from development to production
• Maintain project portfolio, track project health, and highlight issues immediately
• Sustain and grow relationships with client's IT and Business leaders, managing customer expectations
• Oversee project progress and bring attention to issues in project delivery
• Liaison with pre-sales, practices, and relevant stakeholders to respond to RFPs
• Develop and communicate strategy, plans, issues, and risks effectively
• Take the lead on release management activities and drive improvements
• Identify, develop, and implement tools and metrics for project/program and release management success

Requirements

• 6+ years in an advanced management role (project management preferred)
• 11+ years overall experience in the IT domain
• Exceptional leadership, time management, facilitation, and organizational skills
• Outstanding working knowledge of change management principles and performance evaluation processes
• Working knowledge of Agile methodology and SDLC
• Exposure to programming and ability to understand basic software architecture concepts
• Proven track record of delivering projects and programs from initiation through implementation
• Working knowledge on tools like Jira, Confluence
• Experience working in an Agile environment
• Comfortable communicating at all levels of the organization with good conflict resolution skills

Qualifications

• 11+ years overall experience in IT domain with 6+ years in an advanced management role, preferably project management

Nice to Have

• Working experience in the BFSI domain
• Experience managing projects in Java/ReactJS and AWS technology stack
