Project and Relief Crew - Environmental Services

About This Role

Perform varied project assignments, including extensive floor and carpet maintenance, throughout healthcare facilities. This role involves operating specialized cleaning equipment and assisting with general building service duties.

Responsibilities

• Perform all types of floor care, including stripping, sealing, burnishing, buffing, and refinishing floors
• Shampoo and extract carpets
• Operate all equipment safely, including buffers, scrubbers, shampooers, automatic floor machines, and burnishers
• Clean equipment after use and perform simple maintenance
• Load linen and microfiber carts and bins to predetermined par levels and complete deliveries at scheduled times
• Collect soiled linen and soiled microfiber products from designated areas
• Transport and set up furniture for meetings
• Perform tasks assigned to Building Service Attendants, such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, washing beds and furniture, and cleaning bathrooms
• Change drapes/curtains and perform high cleaning requiring a ladder (walls, ceilings, vents, windows, lights)
• Perform the function of OR cleaning personnel on an as needed basis

Requirements

• Ability to easily read and understand both verbal and written instructions
• Proven expertise in all phases of floor care
• Good work performance record
• Good attendance record
• Ability to get along well with others (guest relation skills)
• Ability to be on feet most of the time, reaching, bending, stooping, lifting and climbing
• Ability to physically control equipment during operation

Qualifications

• High school or equivalency preferred
• Has worked as a Building Service Attendant at Arnot Health with proven expertise in all phases of floor care. Good work performance and attendance record.
