Project Accountant

About This Role

Manage all project-related accounting tasks, including financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting for a company, preferably in the construction industry. Monitor project costs and ensure timely billing while maintaining compliance with financial regulations.

Responsibilities

• Manage all project-related accounting tasks, including preparation of financial reports, budgeting, and forecasting
• Monitor and analyze project costs, identify variances, and advise project managers on cost control strategies
• Ensure accurate and timely billing of all project-related expenses
• Prepare and maintain Construction Work in Progress (WIP) schedules
• Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures to ensure project profitability
• Collaborate with project managers, finance team, and other stakeholders to ensure financial goals are met
• Perform financial analysis and prepare reports for management
• Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in project accounting
• Solid understanding and experience with Construction WIP, Cost Accounting, and Project Accounting
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to work well in a team environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound financial decisions
• Knowledge of relevant financial regulations and standards

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in project accounting, preferably in the construction industry

Nice to Have

• Experience in the construction industry
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation
• Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation
