About This Role

This Director, US Programs will provide senior leadership for IYF's U.S.-based program portfolio, ensuring program excellence, strong stewardship of funder and partner relationships, and the delivery of results aligned with IYF’s Program Performance & Accountability Framework.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic oversight of IYF’s U.S. program portfolio, ensuring high-quality delivery across public- and private-funded initiatives
  • Ensure programs achieve intended outcomes for young people while meeting performance, compliance, learning, and financial stewardship expectations under PPAF
  • Identify and manage programmatic, financial, and operational risks
  • Serve as the primary institutional relationship manager for assigned U.S. funders and strategic partners
  • Maintain strong, trust-based relationships through delivery excellence, proactive communication, and responsiveness to partner priorities
  • Position IYF for renewals, extensions, and expansions based on demonstrated value and results (“farming”)
  • Contribute to program growth by shaping opportunities, informing program design, and providing senior technical and strategic input to proposals
  • Collaborate closely with Business Development teams to align program evidence, learning, and positioning with growth strategies
  • Lead and develop U.S. program teams, ensuring clarity of roles, accountability, and strong performance
  • Represent IYF externally in relevant forums, positioning the organization as a credible and results-driven leader in workforce development

Requirements

  • Exceptional leadership, management, analytical, and representational skills
  • Proven experience delivering complex programs with strong compliance, financial stewardship, and learning
  • Demonstrated ability to steward and grow long-term corporate, foundation, and public-sector partnerships
  • Experience contributing to business development through strategic inputs, proposal development, and senior positioning
  • Strong understanding of performance and accountability frameworks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to manage complexity, prioritize effectively, and balance strategic and operational demands
  • Minimum of 7–10 years of progressively responsible leadership experience in workforce development, education, or related fields
  • Strong commitment to youth development, equity, and inclusive approaches
  • Strong cross-cultural competency and communication

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum of 7–10 years of progressively responsible leadership experience in workforce development, education, or related fields
