The Program Coordinator - Professional Development supports the planning and implementation of training initiatives for Workforce Solutions staff and contracted service providers within H-GAC's Human Services department. This role ensures alignment with Board expectations and fosters high-quality professional development across the region.
Responsibilities
- Support the planning, coordination, and implementation of training initiatives for Workforce Solutions staff and contracted service providers.
- Liaise between the Board's Professional Development Team and Training Specialists employed by contracted service providers.
- Facilitate foundational and specialized trainings, delivered instructor-led and virtually.
- Coordinate logistics and communication for professional development activities.
- Provide technical assistance to staff in the field.
- Monitor alignment with professional development and training guidelines, identify gaps and strengths, and support continuous improvement efforts.
- Support content development by contributing to job aids, facilitator guides, and training materials.
- Work closely with Senior Planners, program leadership, and regional partners to carry out Board-approved training plans.
Requirements
- 2-4 years of experience in training coordination, facilitation, workforce development, or a related field
- Experience delivering or supporting instructor-led or virtual training sessions
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, coordinate projects, and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and collaboration tools
- Bachelor's degree in an applicable academic discipline or related field of study
- 3 years of experience working with local government, nonprofit programs, school or in job related duties
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in an applicable academic discipline or related field of study
- 2-4 years of experience in training coordination, facilitation, workforce development, or a related field.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Public Administration, Human Resources, Communication, or closely related business field
- Familiarity with adult learning principles and training methodologies
- Training or facilitation certifications (may be obtained within one year of employment)
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders or regional partners
- Critical thinker with problem-solving skills
- Experience with SharePoint or LMS platforms
