About This Role

The Production Support Engineer ensures critical applications and services run smoothly in live customer-facing environments, focusing on incident resolution, system monitoring, and root cause analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor production applications and systems to ensure uptime, performance, and availability
  • Troubleshoot and resolve incidents across application, database, infrastructure, and network layers
  • Perform root cause analysis on recurring issues and implement long-term corrective actions
  • Support deployments, configuration changes, and release activities
  • Maintain and improve monitoring, alerting, and logging tools
  • Collaborate with development and QA teams to understand new features and potential operational impacts
  • Create and update runbooks, documentation, and knowledge articles
  • Participate in on-call rotation and respond to high-priority incidents
  • Work with infrastructure teams to address environment-related issues (servers, storage, networking, integrations)
  • Ensure compliance with operational standards, security policies, and change management processes
  • Identify areas for automation to improve reliability and reduce manual intervention

Requirements

  • Experience supporting applications in production or mission-critical environments
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Familiarity with Linux/Windows servers, log analysis, and system monitoring tools
  • Basic understanding of databases (SQL/NoSQL), APIs, and application architecture
  • Experience with ticketing systems, incident management, and on-call workflows
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting applications in production or mission-critical environments

Nice to Have

  • Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Scripting/automation skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools and release pipelines
  • Knowledge of container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Understanding of ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change Management)
