The Production Support Engineer ensures critical applications and services run smoothly in live customer-facing environments, focusing on incident resolution, system monitoring, and root cause analysis.
Responsibilities
- Monitor production applications and systems to ensure uptime, performance, and availability
- Troubleshoot and resolve incidents across application, database, infrastructure, and network layers
- Perform root cause analysis on recurring issues and implement long-term corrective actions
- Support deployments, configuration changes, and release activities
- Maintain and improve monitoring, alerting, and logging tools
- Collaborate with development and QA teams to understand new features and potential operational impacts
- Create and update runbooks, documentation, and knowledge articles
- Participate in on-call rotation and respond to high-priority incidents
- Work with infrastructure teams to address environment-related issues (servers, storage, networking, integrations)
- Ensure compliance with operational standards, security policies, and change management processes
- Identify areas for automation to improve reliability and reduce manual intervention
Requirements
- Experience supporting applications in production or mission-critical environments
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Familiarity with Linux/Windows servers, log analysis, and system monitoring tools
- Basic understanding of databases (SQL/NoSQL), APIs, and application architecture
- Experience with ticketing systems, incident management, and on-call workflows
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Qualifications
- Experience supporting applications in production or mission-critical environments
Nice to Have
- Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Scripting/automation skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and release pipelines
- Knowledge of container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Understanding of ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change Management)
