Lead a production team to ensure products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and to quality standards. This hands-on role involves coordinating daily operations, training employees, and implementing improvement projects.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and assign employee work according to production schedule and quality standards
- Plan, assign daily priorities, and coordinate activities of the production team
- Provide training and coaching to ensure compliance with company policies, safety, and manufacturing procedures
- Actively coach, train, develop, and counsel employees for personal and professional growth and production efficiency
- Identify training gaps and ensure necessary training is delivered
- Monitor scrap, quality, and efficiency, and take corrective action as needed
- Perform routine audits of molding and finishing operations to ensure procedure and standard compliance
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
- Review daily production reports to support inventory accuracy and drive improvements
- Work with Manufacturing Manager to identify and implement improvement projects for safety, efficiency, and downtime reduction
- Provide hands-on troubleshooting for production and process issues
- Work with Human Resources on staffing activities including interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training of hourly employees
- Maintain attendance and personnel records
- Investigate and document workplace injuries as required
Requirements
- 5+ years of supervisor experience in manufacturing
- Demonstrated ability to successfully coach, mentor, and lead production teams
- Ability to mentor, motivate, and hold others accountable
- Ability to mitigate team conflicts and illicit cooperation from cross-functional teams
- Proficient with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and/or combination of relevant work experience and education in related field
- 5 years of supervisor experience in manufacturing
Nice to Have
- Experience using ERP system IQMS
- Experience in plastic injection molding operations
- Bilingual English/Spanish
