Lead a production team to ensure products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and to quality standards. This hands-on role involves coordinating employee work, training individuals, troubleshooting issues, and implementing continuous improvement projects.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and assign employees work per schedule and quality standards
- Plan and assign daily priorities for the production team
- Provide training and coaching to ensure compliance with company policies and manufacturing procedures
- Coach, train, develop, and counsel employees to enhance production efficiency
- Identify training gaps and ensure training delivery
- Monitor scrap, quality, and efficiency and take corrective action
- Perform routine audits of molding and finishing operations to ensure procedures and standards are followed
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
- Review daily production reports to support inventory accuracy and drive improvements
- Work with Manufacturing Manager to identify and implement improvement projects
- Provide hands-on troubleshooting for production and process issues
- Work with Human Resources in staffing activities
- Maintain attendance and personnel records
- Investigate and document workplace injuries
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to successfully coach, mentor, and productions teams
- Ability to mentor, motivate, and hold others accountable
- Ability to mitigate teams conflicts and elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources / cross functional teams
- Proficient with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software
- Ability to be flexible and responsive to changing scheduling requirements
- Function as team player by maintaining a positive attitude and willingness to assist
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of relevant work experience and education
- 5 years of supervisor experience in manufacturing and/or combination of relevant work experience and education in related field
Nice to Have
- Experience using ERP system IQMS
- Experience in plastic injection molding operations
