Production Supervisor

About This Role

Supervise and manage the day-to-day production processes and employees in a frozen Jamaican food manufacturing facility. Ensure efficient operations, adherence to food safety practices, and proper maintenance of plant equipment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and participate in all phases of production, including pre/post-operation, make-up, packaging, and cleaning preparation
• Ensure efficient execution of work in progress and various processes across different areas
• Ensure HACCP, GMPs, and other food safety practices are followed daily
• Maintain plant sanitation, safe working conditions, and proper food handling practices
• Ensure all plant equipment is properly washed, sanitized, and ready for production
• Check and verify machine controls for accuracy and performance daily
• Interact with mechanics to ensure equipment is in proper working condition and schedule repairs
• Set up working systems to minimize the loss of packaging materials during production
• Supervise and assist in training and motivating production staff
• Communicate with peers and senior management regarding major production decisions

Requirements

• 3-5 years' experience in USDA facility
• Knowledge of SQF, GMPs, HACCP, SOP, SSOP, Pest Control Programs, USDA & FDA regulations
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and data entry software
• Good communication and customer service skills

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or Certificate in Food Service Management, Food Science or equivalent
• 3-5 years' experience in USDA facility and minimum three (3) years of related work experience in Food Production
