About This Role

This role involves overseeing technical support for production engineering operations, focusing on improving manufacturing processes, tools, and calibration. The manager will mentor a team, reduce defects, and enhance productivity and product quality within the Cardiovascular team at Johnson & Johnson MedTech.

Responsibilities

  • Mentor, coach, and develop direct reports by planning, assigning, directing work, appraising performance, rewarding, disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems
  • Mentor on areas of engineering expertise, acting as an agent of change to improve technical skills and systems knowledge
  • Anticipate potential issues using prior experience and gaining new industry knowledge
  • Qualify, optimize, and trend processes via IQ/OQ/PQ, Gage R&R Studies, Process Capability Studies, Designs of Experiments, and Statistical Process Controls
  • Establish and maintain key metrics including yield, equipment/fixture uptime, and product quality
  • Suggest and lead technical improvement projects, estimating resource requirements, return on investments, and time to implement
  • Manage resources for production floor support and production transfer efforts, ensuring corporate objectives are met
  • Use Lean and Six Sigma tools to analyze process trend data or communication issues, identifying opportunities for process and yield improvements
  • Support and enforce company goals and objectives, policies and procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices, Good Documentation Practices, FDA QSR, and ISO regulations
  • Develop and maintain process documentation including assembly procedures, test procedures, routers, travelers, BOMs, process flows, and process FMEAs
  • Plan and schedule projects, estimating required timing, resources, and budgets consistent with corporate objectives, using Microsoft Project

Requirements

  • Intimate knowledge of FDA QSR and ISO regulations
  • Knowledge of lean, six sigma, kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ability to communicate ideas and information clearly, effectively, and frequently (oral or written) within the internal project team
  • Ability to exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Nice to Have

  • Black Belt certification
  • Working knowledge of SAP
  • Microsoft Project experience
