About This Role

This role involves designing, delivering, and maintaining comprehensive training programs for an assigned Epic application, ensuring alignment with organizational workflows and policies. The Principal Trainer II will also contribute to system build, testing, and optimization discussions, applying best practices in instructional design.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deliver workflow-based and role-specific training programs, including classroom, eLearning, job aids, and dashboards
  • Build, test, and maintain the Epic training environment
  • Train and mentor credentialed trainers, providing guidance and day-to-day support
  • Collaborate with operational stakeholders, subject matter experts, and analysts to align training with workflows and organizational standards
  • Participate in project teams for system build, testing, and optimization discussions
  • Customize instructional materials, maintain curriculum trackers, review boards, and adhere to standardized templates
  • Conduct onsite or remote training and support for end-users
  • Collect end-user feedback and recommend training or system improvements
  • Apply instructional design principles, adult learning theory, and ADDIE methodology to all project-related work
  • Manage multiple training projects, track documentation, meet deadlines, and provide status reporting to stakeholders

Requirements

  • 2+ years experience as a classroom trainer, educator, or instructor in a healthcare organization
  • Prior experience in testing Epic Systems
  • Epic Certification in Training Environment Build and Application Principal Trainer

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of clinical/technical application experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a classroom trainer, educator, or instructor in a healthcare organization

Nice to Have

  • Master’s degree
  • 4+ years of experience designing and delivering software training curriculum for large healthcare systems
  • Experience with multiple MST Builds, full-cycle implementations, post-live support, and quarterly upgrades
