Principal Solution Architect - Finance PSS

About This Role

This Principal Solution Architect role is responsible for leading the design and implementation of business solutions for key strategic initiatives within the Finance Pharmacy Services IT tower, leveraging enterprise architecture experience to advise on emerging technologies and drive modernization efforts.

Responsibilities

• Provide cradle-to-grave solution leadership, overseeing solutions from conception to implementation for specific domains
• Conduct in-depth Buy vs Build analysis, providing recommendations based on qualitative and quantitative analysis
• Play a key leadership role in architecture design reviews, identifying gaps and recommending design changes
• Lead and participate in the Architecture community to drive modernization opportunities for PBM technology
• Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance to develop/assemble PBM-applicable reference architectures for cloud-native applications
• Leverage technical expertise to identify PBM applications for refactor and optimization for cloud migration
• Lead and drive proofs-of-concept and technology deep-dives for partner technologies
• Advise and assist application development teams with technical roadblocks and performance challenges
• Engage with stakeholders to assess and recommend cost optimization opportunities and reduce technical debt

Requirements

• 10+ years in design/development experience
• 2+ years of hands-on cloud implementation experience
• Best in class technical subject matter expertise and domain knowledge
• SME level understanding of cloud design and architecture for one or more public cloud providers (Azure, AWS, preferably GCP)
• SME level technical skills in application and integration architecture, security and automation, and working knowledge of IT operations
• SME level understanding of APIs and microservices-based architecture
• Experience with Domain Driven Design to map domain scope to Bounded Contexts/Microservices
• Experience working with streaming platforms like Apache Kafka
• Ability to collaborate across Digital, IT, EA, Ops and Security teams
• Experience in enterprise development tools and methodologies (XP, Agile) including DevSecOps and DataOps
• Hands-on technologist with coding skills and proficient in modern technology stacks (Cloud, DevOps, Kafka)
• Understanding of both SQL and NoSQL database technologies as well as Cloud database technologies
• Demonstrable hands-on experience
• Facilitates adoption of cloud-native/cloud-first architectures
• Experience integrating with legacy mainframe/mid-range AS400 applications and developing modernization roadmaps

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field required
• 10+ years in design/development experience; 2+ years of hands-on cloud implementation experience
