About This Role

This role involves providing strategic leadership for an enterprise's information landscape, focusing on business concepts, data definitions, and metadata. The Principal Business Information Architect will drive data governance and enhance analytics capabilities by creating enterprise ontologies and data standards. This position aims to ensure data reusability and effective decision-making across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Set the vision and direction for enterprise ontologies and business glossaries
• Lead development of canonical data models and domain models
• Drive alignment of ontologies with enterprise strategy and operational needs
• Serve as the principal authority for metadata and business glossary standards
• Oversee enhancement of metadata quality through governance processes
• Partner with stakeholders to embed business information architecture into strategic products
• Champion the adoption of shared business definitions across teams
• Establish enterprise standards for ontology modeling and metadata taxonomy
• Lead the evolution of data governance frameworks in partnership with stakeholders
• Identify and resolve inconsistencies in data definitions and business rules

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in information architecture or data governance
• Mastery of enterprise metadata management tools
• Proven experience in governing ontologies and semantic frameworks
• Expert understanding of data governance principles and data quality
• Ability to translate complex business concepts into structured information models

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Data Management, Business, or related field
• 10+ years of experience in information architecture or data governance
