About This Role

The City of Laurel, Mississippi is seeking entry-level Police Officers to serve the community. This role involves completing a civil service examination and subsequent training to become a certified law enforcement officer.

Responsibilities

• Complete an application and sign-up by the deadline
• Participate in the testing process, including a Civil Service Examination
• Pass a background check
• Pass the Entry-Level Police Officer Civil Service Examination
• Attend and successfully complete the MS Law Enforcement Officer Training Academy

Requirements

• At least 21 years of age
• Valid MS drivers license
• High School diploma or GED
• U.S. Citizen and registered voter in the county of residence
• Able to pass a background check
• Able to pass Entry-Level Police Officer Civil Service Examination
• Able to attend and successfully complete MS Law Enforcement Officer Training Academy
• Birth Certificate
• Social Security Card
• Voter Registration Card
