About This Role

Coordinate host stand operations in a fine dining restaurant, ensuring Biltmore service standards. Manage seating flow, reservations, and guest needs while assisting with VIP arrangements and supporting junior hosts.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate host stand operations at the restaurant
  • Ensure Biltmore standards of service throughout the serving period
  • Maintain flow of seating by section
  • Answer the telephone and manage the reservations system
  • Monitor guest needs and provide initial guest service recovery
  • Provide training and serve as a resource for Host I's
  • Notify management of any escalated guest service issues
  • Ensure the restaurant is properly prepped for service
  • Assist with VIP arrangements
  • Greet and acknowledge all arriving guests and escort them to tables

Requirements

  • Previous host service experience
  • Demonstrated commitment to world-class guest service
  • Fluency in English
  • Basic math skills with ability to handle cash and credit transactions
  • Familiarity with/ability to quickly become proficient with reservations software
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong guest service recovery skills
  • Proactive with good judgment and ability to anticipate/address issues quickly

Qualifications

  • At least one (1) year of related Food & Beverage experience, preferably in fine dining or upscale restaurant host service.

Nice to Have

  • Leadership skills
  • Knowledge of Open Table reservations system
