About This Role

Serve as a Physician in Primary Care for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, providing medical management to a panel of patients, including history, physical examinations, ordering and interpreting tests, and managing acute and chronic illnesses. This role also involves administrative duties and minor outpatient clinical procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a panel of patients in Primary Care, including medical management of both acute and chronic illness
  • Conduct patient history and physical examinations
  • Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests
  • Perform minor outpatient clinical procedures
  • Dedicate 20% of time as lead provider for video on demand, telehealth, and VA community care consults
  • Champion expansion within the Medical Center for telehealth services

Requirements

  • United States Citizenship
  • Completion of residency training approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English

Qualifications

  • Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine from a VA-approved school

Nice to Have

  • Residency trained and board certified in Internal Medicine
  • Experience or training with desired current technology
  • Teaching experience in acute and ambulatory settings
