Serve as a Physician in Primary Care for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, providing medical management to a panel of patients, including history, physical examinations, ordering and interpreting tests, and managing acute and chronic illnesses. This role also involves administrative duties and minor outpatient clinical procedures.
Responsibilities
- Manage a panel of patients in Primary Care, including medical management of both acute and chronic illness
- Conduct patient history and physical examinations
- Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests
- Perform minor outpatient clinical procedures
- Dedicate 20% of time as lead provider for video on demand, telehealth, and VA community care consults
- Champion expansion within the Medical Center for telehealth services
Requirements
- United States Citizenship
- Completion of residency training approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
Qualifications
- Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine from a VA-approved school
Nice to Have
- Residency trained and board certified in Internal Medicine
- Experience or training with desired current technology
- Teaching experience in acute and ambulatory settings
