Physician Assistant, Primary Care

About This Role

The Physician Assistant will provide comprehensive wellness care, acute, episodic, and chronic care to adult veterans, while effectively evaluating and treating complex medical problems. This role involves clinical oversight of the PACT team and collaboration with a physician to ensure patient care.

Responsibilities

• Effectively evaluate and treat patients with complex medical problems requiring a higher degree of clinical skill and competency.
• Order testing and consults as appropriate for the Veteran's condition.
• Perform complete diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in the provision of primary care.
• Document in the medical record in keeping with the Bylaws of the Medical Center.
• Provide clinical care to Veterans and clinical oversight of the PACT team assigned.
• Ensure medical treatment or care plans consist of current best medical practices and are evidence-based.
• Ensure practice of medicine is consistent with Joint Commission, CARF, VA policies, clinical practice guidelines, and national regulations.
• Responsible for timely completion of all clinical charting and documentation required by the Medical Center.
• Actively promote a customer-oriented culture and values of integrity, commitment, advocacy, respect, and excellence.
