Support hospital and ambulatory pharmacy operations by accurately preparing medications, managing inventory, and providing clinical support under the supervision of licensed pharmacists.
Responsibilities
- Support pharmacists in delivering safe, accurate, and timely pharmacy services
- Prepare and compound sterile and non-sterile medications, including chemotherapy and parenteral nutrition
- Maintain accurate computerized patient medication records
- Assist with medication histories and documentation
- Issue controlled substances and maintain required logs and records
- Verify completion of daily pharmacy operational activities
- Train and support Pharmacy Technician I staff
- Maintain IV room certification, competencies, and required continuing education
- Support specialty pharmacy areas such as OR, IV room, and non-central pharmacy locations
- Assist with ambulatory care services including medication reconciliation and transitions of care
Requirements
- Minimum 3-5 years of pharmacy technician experience
- Active registration as a Pharmacy Technician in the state of practice
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3-5 years of pharmacy technician experience
Certifications
Certified Pharmacy Technician
(Required)
ACPE-accredited IV certification program (or state equivalent)
