About This Role

The Pharmacy Technician I will collect medication history, prepare and deliver patient-specific medication doses, and manage medication programs, contributing to the health and well-being of children.

Responsibilities

  • Collect medication history information from patients or caregivers for medication reconciliation
  • Perform unit dose preparation for cartfill and first doses
  • Prepare non-sterile non-hazardous doses for first fill or cartfill, including oral syringes
  • Deliver patient-specific doses and perform ADC replenishment
  • Perform outpatient phone triage and insurance adjudication
  • Perform medication storage inspections
  • Manage medication programs (e.g., Synagis program)
  • Prepare sterile hazardous medication (e.g., IV Chemotherapy)
  • Perform sterile compounding or non-sterile hazardous compounding
  • Check the work of other pharmacy technicians under an authorized program
  • Manage medication doses on the nursing unit
  • Perform inpatient phone triage

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 6-month tech experience
  • PTCB certified within 210 days of hire
