Lead and develop a pharmacy team focused on providing exceptional patient care and transforming healthcare. This role involves promoting best practices, leading through change, and ensuring compliance with regulations.
Responsibilities
- Manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
- Oversee the pharmacy team during bench shifts, strengthening pharmacy performance through effective coaching and consistent follow-up
- Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by ensuring adherence to pharmacy workflow procedures and safety guardrails
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by demonstrating and coaching empathy, compassionate care, and proactive issue resolution
- Proactively offer and deliver immunizations and identify/engage Pharmacy Technicians to learn to immunize
- Support effective management of pharmacy inventory, including protecting cold chain products
- Conduct new Technician and Pharmacist onboarding for the store and district, ensuring timely completion of training and licensure
- Ensure pharmacy operations are fully compliant with state Board of Pharmacy regulations, escalating issues as needed
- Partner with the Store Manager to maintain a healthy talent pipeline of cross-trained colleagues for the pharmacy
- Oversee Staff Pharmacists and District Support Pharmacists, managing performance and delivering annual reviews
- Maintain flexibility for scheduling and business needs, contributing to a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic, and overseeing scheduling
- Regularly review business reporting for operational insights and develop action plans to close gaps in workflow, service, patient care, and compliance
- Establish a culture of safety, empowerment, and inclusion, fostering psychological safety and acting on feedback
- Maintain relevant clinical and technical skills, actively seeking opportunities to expand knowledge
- Support access to care and improve patient outcomes through pharmacist delivered clinical care, empowering the pharmacy team for holistic care
Requirements
- Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located
- Active National Provider Identifier (NPI)
- Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list
- 1-2 years of experience as a Pharmacist
Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience as a Pharmacist
Nice to Have
- Completion of the CVS Pharmacy Manager Emerging Leader (PM-EL) program
- 3-5 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
- Ability to work in the home store, and across the market in other locations, to meet business need
