Lead and develop a pharmacy team to provide exceptional patient care, promote best practices, and ensure compliance with regulations. This role involves direct management of the pharmacy team, overseeing prescription fulfillment, and contributing to positive patient experiences.
Responsibilities
- Manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
- Oversee the pharmacy team during bench shifts, strengthening pharmacy performance measures through effective coaching
- Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following and directing the pharmacy team to follow workflow procedures and safety guardrails
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, collaborating with healthcare teams, and proactively resolving issues
- Proactively offer and deliver immunizations to patients and identify/engage Pharmacy Technicians to immunize
- Support effective management of pharmacy inventory by following and coaching the team on best practices, especially cold chain products
- Conduct new Technician and Pharmacist onboarding for the store and district, ensuring timely completion of training and licensure
- Ensure pharmacy operations are fully compliant with state Board of Pharmacy regulations and escalate issues as needed
- Partner with the Store Manager to maintain a healthy talent pipeline of cross-trained colleagues for the pharmacy
- Oversee Staff Pharmacists and District Support Pharmacists, managing performance and delivering annual reviews
- Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, contributing to a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic
- Regularly review business reporting for operational insights and develop action plans to close gaps in workflow, service, patient care, and compliance
- Establish a culture of safety, empowerment, and inclusion, building psychological safety through feedback
- Maintain relevant clinical and technical skills, actively seeking opportunities to expand knowledge to support patients
- Support access to care and improve patient outcomes through pharmacist delivered clinical care consistent with regulations and CVS Health policies
Requirements
- Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located
- Active National Provider Identifier (NPI)
- Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list
- 1-2 years of experience as a Pharmacist
Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience as a Pharmacist
Nice to Have
- Completion of the CVS Pharmacy Manager Emerging Leader (PM-EL) program
- 3-5 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
- Ability to work in the home store and across the market in other locations
