Pharmacy Intern - Grad

About This Role

Serve as a Graduate Pharmacy Intern, applying didactic learning to real-world pharmacy practice within CVS Health retail locations. Support pharmacy teams in delivering patient care, ensuring smooth operations, and developing skills for a future Pharmacist role.

Responsibilities

• Apply didactic learning from pharmacy school into real-world practice to prepare for a Pharmacist role
• Complete a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation covering store, district, and regional operations
• Deepen understanding of patient safety, error prevention, quality assurance, drug utilization review, and pharmacy professional standards
• Assist the pharmacy team to ensure smooth operations, prompt, safe, and accurate prescription fulfillment
• Provide caring service that exceeds patient expectations by consistently applying SOPs and effective communication
• Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarify prescriptions as allowed by state regulation
• Contribute to a high-performing team by embracing a growth mindset and seeking opportunities to expand knowledge
• Comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles
• Support immunizations, including completing required licensure and training, educating patients, and monitoring adverse reactions

Requirements

• PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the Post-Graduate Training Program at CVS Health
• Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within the required timeframe per state guidelines
• Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required

Qualifications

• PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program

Nice to Have

• 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
• Ability to become immunization certified
• Ability to work in home store, and across the market in other locations, to meet business needs
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
