About This Role

The Graduate Pharmacy Intern at CVS Health applies didactic learning from pharmacy school to real-world practice, preparing for a Pharmacist role by completing a comprehensive training roadmap. This role supports pharmacy operations, patient care, and develops skills in patient safety, quality assurance, and professional standards.

Responsibilities

• Apply didactic learning and pharmacy practice into real-world settings to prepare for a Pharmacist role
• Complete a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation, covering store, district, and regional operations
• Assist the pharmacy team to ensure smooth operations and accurate, prompt prescription fulfillment
• Provide caring service, exceeding patient expectations through consistent application of SOPs and effective communication
• Demonstrate empathy and genuine care in all customer and colleague interactions, contributing to a safe and inclusive culture
• Follow all company SOPs at each workstation to help Pharmacists and Technicians manage and improve patient health
• Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
• Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care and offering immunizations/services
• Offer to counsel, field medical questions, and solicit patient medical history under licensed pharmacist supervision
• Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarify prescriptions where allowed by state regulation
• Maintain high self-awareness and provide in-the-moment coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members
• Complete basic inventory activities as permitted by law and directed by pharmacy leadership team
• Contribute to a high-performing team, embrace a growth mindset, and be receptive to feedback
• Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, and travel to other stores as needed
• Comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles

Requirements

• PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the Post-Graduate Training Program
• Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within required timeframe, per state guidelines
• Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required

Qualifications

• PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program

Nice to Have

• 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
• Ability to become immunization certified
• Ability to work in home store, and across the market in other locations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
